Understanding Freight Shipping
Most people have never received freight delivery - here's what to expect
What is a Pallet?
A pallet is a flat wooden platform (usually 48" x 40") that your gym equipment sits on. The equipment is strapped to the pallet so it can be easily moved with a forklift or pallet jack.
Your equipment arrives on 1-4 pallets depending on size. Small items (single bike) = 1 pallet. Large packages = multiple pallets.
What is Curbside Delivery?
Curbside delivery means the freight driver will bring your palletized equipment to the back of the truck and lower it to the ground using a lift gate.
The driver does NOT:
- Bring items inside your building
- Unpack or unwrap equipment
- Assemble anything
- Move pallets from curb/driveway
How to Unload Your Shipment
Option 1: Equipment You Need
- Pallet jack (rent from Home Depot for $30/day)
- Utility knife to cut straps/wrap
- 2-3 people to help move items
Option 2: Hire Help
Hire local movers for $150-300 to unload and move equipment inside. We can recommend services in your area.
Inspecting Your Delivery
CRITICAL: Always inspect your shipment BEFORE signing the Bill of Lading!
Check for:
- Damaged pallets or torn wrapping
- Cracked/dented covers
- Missing pieces (count all boxes)
If damage found: Note it on the BOL (Bill of Lading) and take photos immediately. Contact us within 24 hours.
